when corrosion and electrochemical reactions are an issue,
eliminate them by using plastic or glass.
You've created a battery, due to the chemical reaction between
the acid and the metal and something called electrolosys, which creates an
explosive gas.
Because when acid reacts with metals, it produces Hydrogen gas.
Hydrogen gas is extremely flamable, and can explode in the correct
environment.
