You will need to file off the area of chrome before it can be

soldered. Soldering flux will not take to chrome, and even stainless steel

needs a special flux.

I used to be able to get a special flux for that, and I think
Trip
it contained a mild acid. I used it with 50/50 solder. I was able to

solder copper directly to chrome w/o removing the chrome.

I needed it so rarely that I don't remember the name (white can w/ black &

green label). Perhaps a search will turn it up. The flux cleaned off and
there wasn't any blistering. Maybe the chrome would blue a little, but
not much.

You could use a product called MILLIPUT. Lots of plumbers in
Loo Loo/Lou Lou
the UK use it. It seals as well as soldering, without all the bother!! :)

File the chrome off the area you're going to solder should do

it. But if what is chromed is other than brass, copper or alike it will

corrode over time.

That depends on how hot you get it, you could try in some way shielding

the chrome maybe by wrapping a wet cloth around it, but yes it could
blister.
